What is the Basis Power Card?

Basis Power Card is a prepaid card curated for millions of women. It’s designed keeping in mind our hopes, goals, fears, and dreams. You can use your Power Card to pay anywhere RuPay is accepted (online and offline), get up to 3% cashback daily and access curated rewards by hand-picked women-focused brands.

What are the documents required to apply for Basis Power Card?

All you need is your PAN and 2 minutes to get started. PAN is mandatory to verify your identity as per PPI guidelines mandated by law.

Is Basis Power Card free?

Yes, the Basis Power Card is completely free of cost - no joining fees, no annual fees, no hidden fees.

Why do I need to complete KYC to avail the Basis Power Card?

In order for us to issue you a Basis Power Card, we would require you to complete KYC checks as per RBI regulations and guidelines.

Can I change my delivery address?

Unfortunately, you cannot change the delivery address on your card once you have specified it during the signup process. But, do email us at [email protected], and we will try our best to help you.

Who is the card issued with?

The card is issued through an RBI regulated pre-paid issuer - Transcorp International Limited.

I was asked for KYC info over the phone. Is this legit?

Basis will never ask you to share personal information, including KYC, over a call. Do not share any personal information or documents if you receive any unsolicited calls regarding the card. In case of urgent needs, we will reach out to you from our official basis email address only, i.e. [email protected] or [email protected]

What is Goldback?

The concept is simple - the cashback you receive on your transactions will be invested as digital gold by us. You can access your gold wallet any time you’d like.



Can I get Cashback and Goldback?

Yes, and no. If the cashback received on your transaction is below ₹1.50, you will receive a cashback, but if it’s above ₹1.50, then you’ll have your cashback invested as Digital Gold.

If my Gold investment grows over time, will I receive it?

Your returns that you receive will be inline with market returns of Gold as an instrument.

How do I access the Gold saved through Goldback?

You can check in on your Goldback through our Rewards tab or via the banner on our home page of our app. 

How do I know this is safe? Is there proof?

To offer digital gold, Basis has partnered with Safegold, which is part of Digital Gold India Private Limited. SafeGold is an organised and transparent method of buying 24-karat gold in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Safegold offers 24-Karat Gold of 995 fineness (99.5% pure) or 9999 fineness (99.99% pure).

What are the benefits of having Goldback?

Goldback is essentially Digital Gold. Therefore, instead of getting cash in the form of cashback, you’re investing the same amount of money in an asset that could give higher returns over time.

Can I sell gold from my Goldback?

Yes, of course! Just drop us an email and we’ll take care of the rest. You’ll soon be able to sell gold directly from the Basis app. You can choose to sell any amount of gold at the live sell price starting with minimum of ₹100 to maximum of the amount of gold that you own.



Can I convert my Goldback Digital Gold into Physical Gold?

Yes, you can! That’s one of the advantages of investing in digital gold. Keep an eye out, it’s in the works!

Is there GST on the Digital Gold I save through Goldback?

There is a 3% GST associated with a digital gold purchase, similar to physical gold. 

For example, if you earn ₹100 as cashback, you will get ₹97 worth of Goldback in your gold wallet. ₹3 is deducted as GST.

I want to know more about the short-term and long-term taxation policies on Goldback.

Taxation on digital gold gains works similar to physical gold: If you sell it within 3 years, you'll be taxed based on your income tax rate (this is your short-term capital gain tax). If you hold it for more than 3 years, your long-term capital gain tax rate is 20.8% with indexation benefits.

Are there storage costs associated with maintaining my gold wallet?

There are no storage charges associated with your digital gold. However, after 5 years of holding the gold, you may get charged a nominal fee for storage. This annual fee is in the range of 0.3%-0.4% of your holdings. Please note that both the timeline and charges are subject to change.

Can I withdraw my Basis Power Card balance via ATM?

No. You cannot use the Basis Power Card to do cash withdrawals.

How can I activate my physical Basis Power Card?

Once you receive your physical card, here’s what you need to do: Open the Basis App ⇾ Click on Power Card → Click on Activate Physical Card Scan the QR code, follow the steps to activate your card and set PIN to Enable offline transactions.

Where can I use the Basis Power Card?

You will be able to use your Basis Power Card at all online/offline merchants which accept payments via credit/debit cards through RuPay except certain merchants such as prepaid wallets. You cannot use your Basis Power Card to withdraw cash at ATMs. Please note: Basis holds discretion over the list of merchants where the card would work and not work, and this list might vary over time.

How can I track my Basis Power Card usage and transactions?

You can track the Basis Power Card usage and transactions on the Basis app itself. Open the Basis App, Click on Power Card, Click on Transactions.

How do I manage my card settings?

You can manage card setting through the Basis app itself. Open the Basis App, Click on Power Card, Click on Mange Card.

My card was stolen or lost. What to do next?

If your card has been stolen or lost, please immediately block your card using the Basis App. Click on Power Card ⇾ Manage card ⇾ Block. Once your card has been blocked, you can request for a replacement through the app itself. If you face any issues, please contact us at [email protected].

You can also change your PIN on the Basis app itself if you think your PIN may have been compromised: Open the Basis App, Click on Power Card, Click on Manage ⇾ Reset PIN.

What are the guidelines for prepaid card usage?

Basis encourages you to make the most of your prepaid card by using it for your daily purchases and enjoying rewards and cash/goldbacks tailored to your needs. To ensure a positive and secure experience for our users we have established some simple guidelines for prepaid card usage. By using the Getbasis prepaid card, you agree to adhere to these guidelines, which may be updated or changed by us without prior notice.

Purpose of the Card: The prepaid card is designed specifically for women to facilitate their daily transactions and enjoy relevant rewards. It is not limited to wallet transfers; feel free to use it for your various purchases.

Responsible Usage: Please use the prepaid card responsibly and ethically. Any misuse or violation of these guidelines may lead to the card being hot listed.

Dubious or Suspicious Behaviour: To maintain the safety and security of our community, we monitor for any dubious or suspicious behaviour. The following scenarios may result in your card being hot listed:

a. Wallet-only transactions without utilizing the card for purchases.

b. Usage of shared UPI IDs across multiple PC accounts.

c. Usage of multiple UPI IDs belonging to other individuals.

d. Email name discrepancy or suspicious name associated with the card.

Why did my transaction fail?

Your Basis Power Card can be used for offline/ online transactions across all merchants that accept RuPay cards. Your transaction may have failed if you used it for cash withdrawals at an ATM. Other possible reasons could include trying a transaction that went over custom limits, entering an incorrect pin, or if you haven't activated a specific mode of transaction (offline, tap to pay, etc.) For specific queries, you can write to [email protected] along with the Merchant Details, Transaction Amount and Date of Transaction.

What if the transaction failed and my money was deducted from my Power Card?

If the transaction failed and any amount was deducted, it will be refunded within 7-10 business days.

How do refunds work?

If a transaction has been cancelled or refunded, the amount will be credited back in 7-10 business days, once we receive the confirmation from the merchant. If you have any refund related issue, please write to us at [email protected] along with the Merchant details, Transaction ID, Transaction Amount, Transaction Date and any screenshot (if available) of the refund confirmation from the merchant.

Can I cancel a transaction after making payment for it?

Yes, the cancellation can be done after making payment for it. You will have to cancel the order with the merchant. Once we receive the cancellation confirmation, we will refund the amount within 7-10 business days. If a refund has been confirmed within the billing cycle of the transaction, it will get reflected in that month’s statement itself. If the refund gets confirmed after the billing cycle, it will get reflected in next month’s billing statement.

Where can I see all the canceled transactions?

Canceled transactions will get reflected under transactions once we receive confirmation of the same from the merchant. This may take up to 7-10 business days.

What is cashback?

For transactions that you do on the Basis Power Card — up to 3% of the transaction amount is credited back to your Power Card balance. This is called cashback. You can view more information on cashback tiers on the Basis app. Please note that no cashback is applicable on transactions that are wallet transfers.

When is a cashback credited?

Cashback for eligible transactions is added to your Power Card balance instantly.

Can I transfer the cashback to my bank account?

Your cashback is added to your Power Card balance directly. At this time, you can only withdraw your balance to your bank account at the time of card closure due to min-KYC as per RBI regulation.

How do I earn a reward?

When you add balance to your Power Card, you'll become a part of the Basis Power Club, and access all the rewards instantly! Access them by clicking on the “Rewards” page of the app.

What are the terms and conditions for rewards?

T&Cs for a reward may depend on the issuing brand. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions section of the particular reward by clicking on the reward, or feel free to contact us at [email protected].

My reward has expired.

All rewards come with an expiry date. You can refer to the terms and conditions for the same by clicking on the reward. Please note, after a reward has expired, you will be unable to claim it with our partner brands.

How do I redeem a reward?

Click on the reward you want to redeem. Then, click on "how to redeem" on detailed steps for each reward.

I'm having trouble redeeming a reward, who do I contact?

For each reward, you’ll find the relevant contact information of the brand by clicking on the relevant reward. If you're still facing any issue, please write to us at [email protected].

My cashback was reversed. Why?

Cashback may be revered for transactions that were refunded/ reversed. If this was reflected incorrectly, please write to us at [email protected].

Terms and Conditions.

  • To qualify for the Basis Power Card referral program, you need to have activated your Power Card.

  • Your friend must use your referral link or code to signup for the Power Card to qualify for the referral program.

  • If your friend is an existing Power Card user, the referral program does not apply

  • A maximum of 10 referrals can be earned in a financial year .

  • Balance must be added within 7 days via the modes available, by the friend you referred, in order for you and your referred friend to earn cashback.

  • Referral cashback cannot be withdrawn in the case of account closure in any case.

  • The referral program can be terminated without prior notice at the discretion of Basis Basis will have the sole discretion in case of any dispute

How do I add money to the Power Card?

You can add money to the Power card by clicking on the Power Card via the homepage of the Basis app → Manage balance, or simply click on “Add balance” via the homepage. You can choose the amount as well as the mode of payment (net banking, UPI, wallets). Once the payment is successful, you’ll be able to see the update balance on your Power Card

How do I withdraw money from the Power Card?

As per regulation, with minimum KYC, you can only withdraw money at the time of account closure. If you'd like to close your account, please email us at [email protected].

My money was debited from my bank account, but the balance was not updated.

Any amount debited, that has not reflected in your Power Card balance, will be refunded back to you in 7-10 business days. Fret not! :)
